The Leavey School of Business community came together in a big way on Santa Clara University's Day of Giving, held April 23, making 187 gifts and raising $292,321 in support of student success and innovation. From scholarships to academic departments and student experiences, every gift made a lasting impact.

A standout moment of the day was a generous $200,000 gift from Koji Omura EMBA ’24, manager of Japanese football club Avispa Fukuoka and a key partner in Leavey’s new MS in Sports Business program. His contribution will support scholarships for students in the program, reflecting a meaningful alignment between his professional expertise and commitment to advancing the future of sports business education.

Supporters also rallied behind the Dean’s Leadership Fund, unlocking two challenge gifts. The first, a $5,000 contribution from Michele Barnett Gaskill ’02, parent of Briana ’25 and Kayla ’27, was triggered after the first 50 gifts were made. Later in the day, a second $5,000 gift was unlocked after the fund reached 75 gifts, thanks to the generosity of Bronco parents John Buscher and Anna Bowman.

“Day of Giving is a powerful reminder of the impact our community can have when we come together,” said Dean Ed Grier. “Every contribution helps us prepare our students to lead with purpose and innovation in Silicon Valley and beyond.”

Thank you for supporting the Leavey School of Business and helping us shape the future of business leadership.
