Dear Colleagues —
I'm pleased to share that the First Destination Survey dashboard has been updated for the Class of 2024. With a 75% response rate among undergraduate students and a 70% response rate among graduate students, this is the most complete set of outcomes data ever collected at Santa Clara University.

The First Destination Survey (FDS) captures information regarding how new college graduates fare in their careers within six months of graduation, such as whether they are working, continuing their education, or still looking, along with many other data points such as average base salary, percentage of students who participated in internships, and how well prepared students feel for life after SCU.
The Career Center is available to present this data at your next team, department, board or council meeting. Please email me at [email protected] to schedule a 30-minute presentation!
Thank you to our colleagues in Institutional Research—Conor Roycroft, Stacy Connolly, and Jia Seow—who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure the data is not only accurate, but also comprehensible via intuitive Tableau visualizations. 👏
As always, I look forward to working together to deliver on the promise of higher education for all of our students: a good job, social capital, and economic mobility in pursuit of a more humane, just and sustainable world.

Students Find Their 'Career Guardian Angels' Through Student-Alumni Mentorship Program
Year one of the pilot Student-Alumni Mentorship Program for students in the Humanities and Social Sciences successfully concluded this past March. Eighty-nine (89) undergraduate students and 76 alumni participated.
Shauna Strauss, Assistant Director of Career Development and staff lead for the mentorship program, invited students to reflect on their experience and write 'Thank You' notes for their mentors. One student wrote to her mentor, "Thank you for being my career guardian angel." 🤗
Here are a few other mentee 'Thank You' notes that will warm your heart:

Thank you note from mentee Lauren Meyer '25 to her mentor Cathy Nevolo '90.

Thank you note from mentee Vanessa Sordello '25 to her mentor Zarina Yamat '97.

Also, we're very pleased to report that 100% of the mentors indicated that they would be open to participating in the program again in the future. For more program results, please view the Program Recap Presentation deck.
Our goal for next year is to expand the program to include students and alumni from the Art and Art History, Music, and Theatre Arts programs within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Career Center Shares Insights on Employer Partner Program
On Thursday, April 17, Dylan Houle joined a virtual panel discussion on the topic of Corporate Partner Programs - Past, Present, and Future hosted by the Mountain Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers (MPACE). He was joined by fellow panelists from Seattle University, University of California, Santa Barbara, and Utah Valley University.

In 2023-2024, the Career Center launched our first-ever Employer Partner Program and immediately attracted seven partners, including Diamond-level partners Enterprise Mobility and ServiceNow.
Thanks to the leadership of Melissa Thiriez, Director of Employer Relations and Partnerships, the partner program has generated approximately $60,000 in funds over two years.
