Update from Sociology Club
This Spring Quarter has been one of the most exciting yet for the Sociology Club! We’ve had the pleasure of hosting a variety of events that brought our community together in meaningful (and fun!) ways. Our Paint & Sip night in the Mission Gardens was a serene and joyful evening filled with creativity and conversation under the sunset. We followed it up with a board game night full of laughter, strategy, and new friendships, and wrapped up with a high-energy trivia night that tested our knowledge of all things pop culture, politics, and sociology.
Through these events, we’ve had the chance to meet so many incredible students, majors, minors, and friends of sociology, who remind us of why this community matters. It’s been inspiring to see folks come together not just for fun, but to build lasting connections rooted in a shared passion for social change. Congratulations to our club executives, Isa Fernandez ‘25, and Janelle Abbott ‘25, for their caring dedication to making a community for students interested in sociological topics. The club will miss them dearly and we wish the best success in their futures.
As we look ahead, we’re thrilled to announce our new board for the 2025–2026 academic year!
- Co-Chairs: Carla Schmitt & Meg Jones

This incoming board is full of thoughtful, creative, and passionate leaders, and we can’t wait to see where they take Sociology Club next year. From all of us on the current board, thank you for such a wonderful year. We’re so grateful to everyone who showed up, participated, and helped us grow this space. Here's to even more learning, laughter, and community-building ahead!
